Fueled by his deep passion for wine, Stu aspired to recreate an experience akin to his time introducing a NZ SB to the North American market in the early 2000s. The reactions he observed during those days were not only entertaining and captivating but also, in many cases, quite astonishing. New Zealand's unique style and its distinctiveness were novel to most, making Stu's journey all the more remarkable. He took immense pleasure in witnessing the genuine excitement and the profound sense of discovery as people explored the distant world of New Zealand and its remarkable Sauvignon Blanc.
Te Awanga Estate is a family owned wine business. It was born out of a love of making wine and of the place Rod calls home, Hawke’s Bay. In 2006 he began searching out vineyard sites that would eventually supply the grapes to make the great wines of the future. He has an enduring purpose: to grow, harvest and craft world class wines. And smile while doing it.
